I have had the opportunity to photograph the Martinsburg Roundhouse twice recently. It is a unique early railroad structure, one of the few totally covered turntables still in existence and the ONLY roundhouse of its type in the world with a cast iron structural frame. The attached slide show is from my first visit. Trying to convey the feel of the structure is difficult and the perspective with super wide lenses is interesting. I also have enhanced the color a bit to show off the interesting geometric pattern inside the roof. It is open to the public on a limited basic and more information can be found at Martinsburg Roundhouse.
